OIKS HAS ARRIVED!

Our 6th studio album OIKS is released into the wild today. To celebrate it, we are going to tour far and wide across Australia throughout the year with our good mates Magic Dirt, hitting up every state and territory and promising to leave hearts and ears buzzing. Tickets are available now, along with a very special fan offer of a $5 digital download of OIKS with any gig ticket!

This new record began in a Perth studio in 2018, was shut down for a couple of years during a pandemic until finally being finished sometime in 2022. All of our albums have been a labour of love, becoming signposts that mark out a significant chapter in the band's life and history. OIKS is no exception and maybe even the most significant of them all, given what we had to go through to get here.

It probably goes without saying that we are proud of this record. We went into the studio and took a chance on the chemistry still being there. If it wasn't, well the worst that could happen was we got to spend a few days together mucking around in the studio. Luckily, things sort of slipped into place. Put the four of us in a room together, close the door and something happens. Turns out that when you strip everything else away, the outside world and the last 30 years, what's left is the same stuff that was there when we first started hanging out and making a racket in 1995. A little gang of oiks. No big plans or grand ambitions necessarily. Just the idea that we could turn this into...something. And in the process we would pick up again on the same stories and in-jokes we've been entertaining ourselves with since we were teenagers.

Today though, it's not just for us anymore. This noise is for all of you oiks too! Come join our gang and turn it up loud!

Today it is our great pleasure to share with you our brand new single 'Rubberman' and its accompanying video clip.

'Rubberman' is the second single to be released from our forthcoming album 'OIKS'. 

'OIKS' will be arriving on April 12th 2024 and is available for pre-order now HERE! You can get a bundle with a tshirt & vinyl/CD/Digital Download - the vinyl will be an exclusive eco friendly mystery colour until sold out - and JBHIFI are doing a limited edition fire red vinyl along with signed slicks for LP & CD purchases.

The video for 'Rubberman' sees the band reunited with animator Gina Moore, who was behind the charcoal drawing animation that appeared in the video for 'Harpoon' way back in 1998.

Hey gang,

We are most humbled to be inducted in the WA music Hall of Fame in 2023. This will be taking place at the WAM awards on Thursday November 16th at the Regal Theatre. Tix available soon.

When we first started out playing shows around Perth in 1995 we felt quickly embraced by the local music community and that support was crucial to us being able to forge a career beyond WA without having to relocate interstate, which was the done thing in those times. It is amazing to us to still be here all these years later and for that support to have remained so rock solid for the entirety of the band's existence. We are incredibly lucky.

New single?  Sure!  New tour?  Why not!

We are thrilled to announce the release of our first new single in over a decade and a national capital city tour to celebrate.

'Gum up the Bearings' is out now through our new home at Cooking Vinyl Australia.  It comes accompanied by a clip made with our friend Arlo Cook who has been following us around with a camera since 2015, taking footage at shows all around Australia aswell as inside Blackbird recording studio Perth with our dear pal Dave Parkin.

Of course to celebrate 'Gum up the Bearings' we are playing 5 shows around Australia in venues that will provide an old school and intimate vibe.  Tickets for these shows are available right now so we encourage you to snap up your tickets before they go.  Here are the dates and ticketing info:
